The church I was pastoring (Caro United Methodist Church) had become
very involved in assisting the homeless. 

However it was soon evident that the need was so great that it was going
to take the cooperation of the whole county to not only help with immediate
needs of individuals and families, but to make a significant impact in finding
long term solutions.

Churches, community organizations and clubs, businesses, corporations,
caring individuals and government agencies needed to be brought together
to work on common goals. We all needed to be educated about the changing
face of homelessness and the issues of homelessness.  The beginning
process of organization was slow and difficult, but the commitment of many
caring people keep thing moving forward and continues on to grow and
develop.
