"Closing the front door" to an episode of homelessness is the primary homeless prevention strategy. Families who are already housed and have gotten behind due to illness, travel costs, or medical emergencies, should be helped occassionally.  By promptly assisting our friends and neighbors out of a tough situation the Coalition is able to keep a bad situation from getting worse - such as spiralling eviction costs or an actual experience of homelessness.

By helping out with past due rent to prevent an eviction, or in some cases past mortgage payments to prevent a foreclosure, the Coalition is there to lend a helping hand within Tuscola County.
