Tuscola County Community Garden Project The Tuscola County Community Garden Project (TCCGP) is a community-based project to create local gardens on donated land that will each form a cooperative organization to grow their garden. The cooperatives will be made up of local low-income individuals who will share in the fresh produce of their gardens. No gardening experience will be necessary since each garden will be a learn and work experience. In addition, the TCCGP will offer other gardening opportunities to address specialized populations such as the elderly or physically challenged. The MSU Extension and the Master Gardener program will help provide materials, leadership and technical assistance. When appropriate, information and assistance will be offered in preserving fresh produce to extend and expand nutritional opportunities. In line with our local community values, this program is created to help people help themselves. Each gardener will be required to commit to participation, as they are able. Each cooperative will be dedicated to sound environmental practices led by the principles of the Master Gardeners. Also, as a faith based organization, we will be donating ten percent of the harvest to those in need.
